Janie BlackfordGrowing up in rural South Carolina, I have been gardening pretty much as long as I could walk. My mom would take me out early in the morning to weed the garden, pick the tomatoes and pull out any little inch worms or beetles that may have found their way into our veggie patch. We would feed them to our chickens – who loved getting them morning treats in the summer.

My daughter now gardens with me the same way that I did growing up. It’s a wonderful thing to have helpful little hands in the garden, even if we both always have a little dirt under the finger nails.

I hope to share with you all my favorite gardening gadgets and tools that I have found helpful over the years, plus a few tricks I’ve learned along the way!
